What is a Virtual Assistant?

 

A Virtual Assistant (VA) provides professional administrative assistance to clients from their own offices. Because virtual assistants are independent contractors rather than employees, clients are not responsible for any employee NI or tax contributions and they do not have to provide a working area or equipment.

A Virtual Assistant usually charges by the minute so you only pay for the work that they carry out. Many companies are now opting to use a Virtual Assistant instead of offering contracts of employment or hiring from temp agencies.
